Quality and Quantity
On Friday May 30th, Dhon officially discharged from QLI to our mom’s home in Lincoln, NE. It has been quite a busy week for the family, but with the support of QLI we have never felt more prepared to navigate what it looks like to have Dhon out of long term stays in medical facilities.
Our QLI family has truly been life changing for the entire family. Dhon created so many new friends and memories that we could even write about. His new friends loved spending time with Dhon and learning how to interact with him in his current state. They shared so many smiles and laughs, it was truly beautiful to see each day. Many of them are committed to coming out and visiting Dhon often. I think we have plans for Dhon’s birthday to reunite with the QLI fam again.
It was mixed emotions for staff and Dhon when we discharged. We will truly miss the QLI fam, and at the same time Dhon was ready for a break/rest from the constant go go go lifestyle of rehab. God commands us to rest and it is a beautiful gift. So Dhon and I are committing the next week or two to simply resting and taking our time with the day to day.
We soon will be back on the grind with outpatient rehab at Madonna in Lincoln.
