1.9 Decades

Dhon turns 19 tomorrow! He is very excited. In the state of Nebraska he is legally an adult. Which was funny because he was an adult at 18 in Oregon, moved to Nebraska and they took away that status haha.

Dhon had a lot of fun being surrounded by friends and family at his party yesterday. The picture on the post is of some of his friends that used to help caregiver for him at QLI. Dhon shares a very special bond with these friends and they always know how to bring the biggest smile out of him.

Today, more family is coming into town from Minnesota to help him celebrate. He get’s to see his grandpa that he hasn’t seen in years. His grandpa is the only grandparent he knows and the one that took care of him during some of Dhon’s younger years.

The journey Dhon is on is not your typical late teen adventure but regardless Dhon is being formed into exactly the person God wants him to be. He is preserving in his rehab, and he is finding new joys in life. He is so content and grateful with life it is inspirational.

Dhon always wishes he could celebrate with more friends and even more family, that is just who Dhon is. One day, we will have to plan an even bigger party for him.
