Let there be SUNlight

It’s been very sunny here in Lincoln. Dhon typically wears sunglasses but even more so (sometimes indoors) after the accident, I think he has some light sensitivity. I recently got LASIK done and my eyes are a lot more sensitive too. We relate to each other in that way now I suppose.

I posted the July newsletter a few days ago, so I am not quite sure what to update you on as I write this post. Dhon and the family are keeping busy. Since the newsletter Dhon got to experience fourth of July in Lincoln. A drastic difference from Oregon. Every other house had to have hundreds of dollars spent on fireworks that shot up in the sky and filled with smoke. Could not even imagine doing that in Oregon with the burn risks. Dhon appeared to have lots of fun seeing and hearing it. Though they didn’t stop until like 2am on July 5th, so I don’t think he got too much sleep.

I am finally getting to the end of establishing all of his doctors and medical staff in Lincoln. Lots of phone calls and emails. I am working on getting him caregivers in the home to help my mother and I out. Our agency has been super helpful in that process, but it still takes time to find good quality care givers in the area. So please be praying for that transition.

Not much else is new in my life. I continued to be blessed by God and His provision of new community and friendships. Lincoln isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. I do miss the Oregon weather, air and nature that’s for sure. Take care everyone, there will be more posts as we prepare for Dhon’s birthday. Don’t forget if you want to send cards and such, check out the newsletter or send us an email dhonstrong@gmail.com
