E Lah Noi
My Lao is not the greatest, but recently I have been reconnecting with my inner Lao culture. Listening to the music, speaking the language, listening to the music and even some Muay Thai classes. “e lah noi” can be roughly translated as dearest little one. My little sister Deja has always brought me closer to my culture and she is also the one person on this earth who I can be the most childish around haha. Typically older brother trying to embarrass lil sis type vibe.
Anyways, my sister has been such a blessing to Dhon and I during our time in Omaha. She is very busy with work yet she continually finds time to spend with us and create new experiences. We got to explore the Omaha zoo with her and a big fair/festival called JunkStock. To this day, Dhon will laugh the loudest and longest when Deja is present. She was never the one to make him laugh the most before the accident, but now it is like her superpower. We are blessed to have our sister close to us. Love you sis!
